Twitter has announced that it has finally found a business model that will help them monitize their quickly growing user base.
The advertising based "Promoted Tweets" will begin rolling out Tuesday, April 13 to between 2 and 10 percent of users with the initial advertisers including Best Buy, Bravo, Red Bull, Sony Pictures, Starbucks, and Virgin America.
The program will closely follow in Google’s footsteps by implementing a keywords based approach to the promotion of advertisements. Specifically, Twitter users will conduct searches using keywords that advertisers have bought to link to their ads.
