Chicago Loop Alliance has successfully launched a new program intended to transform empty Loop area storefronts into public art galleries, exhibits and studios. Pop-Up Art Loop creates partnerships between artists and property owners, creating temporary gallery space at no cost to the artist in prime Loop locations and was developed as a way to simultaneously showcase fine art to pedestrians in the Loop while also presenting the retail space to potential renters.
The web site (PopUpArtLoop.com) was developed by AdEasel to promote the initiative and to highlight individual galleries within the Loop area. Users can locate active galleries through integrated Google Maps, can view Active & Past Galleries and can peruse the thumbnail gallery of artist work. Interested Artists & Property Owners are each provided relevant information for participation in the program and are encouraged to apply via email.
