Recently in the West Loop neighborhood, many local groups have tried to reach Oprah for any kind of recognition or acknowledgement to no avail. "It’s like trying to talk to the Wizard of Oz" said one local resident. "She ain’t Jesus" says another. It seems Oprah’s doors have grown too big to open up to small local causes.
So other local businesses are stepping up to fill her ever fattening shoes, including AdEasel, a local agency down the street from Harpo Studios. "We would love to work with Oprah, but we see everyone trying to get her attention all day, every day, and we can’t afford to sacrifice that much time when so many other executives are excited to talk to us about all of the new ideas and innovative business models we can bring to their companies."
